WATERCARE MINING’S (WCM) PRIVACY POLICY
1. In accordance with the provisions of the South African Protection of Personal Information Act, Act 4 of 2003 (the “POPI” Act), WCM has developed a privacy policy that complies with the POPI Act. We urge any persons who may provide us with personal information to read the POPI Act to better understand their rights and / or obligations.
2. In summary of our obligations and your rights in terms of the POPI Act, please note that:
2.1 We will only collect, process and store your personal information in terms of the provisions of the POPI Act.
2.2 In the absence of you specifically informing us in writing that you object to the processing of any personal information that you may have provided us with, we will accept that you have consented to such processing.
2.3 We will only collect, store and process your personal information for the sole purposes of exploring possible business opportunities between WCM and yourself, which will include the promotion of our products and services to you, and to comply with any law that compels us to do so.
2.4 We will only retain a record of your personal information for so long as it is necessary to fulfil the purpose for which your personal information was collected, or as we may by law be required to do so.
2.5 Unless required to do so by law, we will not retain your personal information, and will delete or destroy your personal information upon your written request to us to do so.
2.6 We will at all times take all such steps as may be reasonably necessary to protect and safeguard your personal information.
2.7 You have the right to request us to confirm whether or not we hold any of your personal information, and may further request a record or description of your personal information that we may hold, subject however to you agreeing to pay our reasonable fee to provide you with this service.
2.8 You have the right to withdraw your consent to our use of your personal information at any time.
3. Please take note, in conclusion that Section 14 of the Constitution of the Republic of South Africa provides that everyone has the right to privacy. You may therefore, and with the exception of those instances where you may be compelled to provide us with your information by law, refuse to provide us with your personal information.
