Real-time remote monitoring and control of water treatment plants

Water Process Control Room

Switched on with WaterBizz

We believe that the leader in water treatment will be the company that understands their clients’ processes better than the client themselves.  This understanding is built on data.  With data tracking comes trending, and with trending comes prediction. Trending and prediction, within the parameters of our key performance indicators, enables optimisation and predictive troubleshooting.

Through our in-house IT platform, WaterBizz, we remotely monitor and control our water treatment plants, as well as the chemical and services applications.  The real-time data is centralised through the WaterBizz platform, which can integrate with numerous SCADA platforms.

WaterBizz has been specifically designed to streamline the reporting, monitoring and control of water-related systems.  It allows both static and real-time monitoring of systems and unit processes.

Clients, management and representatives can access historical data and perform statistical analyses to perform root cause analysis and optimisation. WaterBizz integrates seamlessly with condition monitoring and control equipment supplied by Watercare Innovations.

Control room personnel can monitor vital plant parameters and report any key issues to our site managers or directly to our clients.  This allows downtime to be kept to a minimum.  Our team of engineers can monitor plant performance remotely thereby increasing productivity.

WaterBizz is our business intelligence platform that will enable Watercare Innovations and our clients to grow in a sustainable and scalable fashion.

R&D: From concept to commissioning

Commissioning of equipment

In-house team driven to support your operation

Our primary objective when we develop technologies is to implement industry-appropriate solutions that add value to the customer, specifically satisfying economic, process and environmental requirements.

Watercare Innovations specialises in the delivery of tailored solutions in the field of industrial water management and treatment. We customise specific solutions to meet the exacting demands of our clients, from integrated systems to single-source solutions.

Our core developmental competencies are geared towards solid-liquid separation, ultra- and nano-filtration technologies, ion exchange and process development.

An in-house technology and implementation team is made up of enthusiastic, motivated professionals and experts who together have more than 40 years of experience in the gold, platinum, ferrochrome and base-metal industries across all development stages including research and development.

The support provided extends from the concept and design of projects to laboratory and pilot testing, to on-site optimisation during commissioning.

Laboratory services for routine water analysis and reporting

Laboratory

Test. Report. Respond. Repeat

Over the past 40 years, Watercare Innovations has built a solid reputation for leading customer-focused products and services in the water treatment industry. This would not have been possible without the support of our in-house technical service laboratory.

Routine water analyses and reporting in our WaterBizz system enables the effective collection of data, system monitoring, trending and prediction. Corrosion, scale and microbiological monitoring enable our site representatives to manage your industrial water systems in a way that reduces risk, optimises operational efficiencies and associated operational costs.

Having an in-house laboratory provides the high quality and quick turnaround times required for optimum plant operations.

Our technical support extends beyond our head-office-based laboratory. We have satellite laboratories in our main centres of activity namely Brits, Carltonville and Durban. Eleven customer sites have site-specific technical service facilities ensuring quick turnaround of analytical tests and reporting, and immediate corrective response where required.

Our laboratory methods are standardised, and routinely audited, ensuring consistency of reporting and evaluation across all our technical facilities. The quality, safety and environmental standards are in accordance with the ISO certification requirements.

The technical services team is comprised of a group of experienced analytical chemists and engineers.

Engineering Support

Watercare Innovations is a member of the Engineering Council of South AfricaWatercare Innovations is registered with ECSA (Engineering Council of South Africa) under the ECSA Commitment and Undertaking Agreement in which we commit to training engineering candidates to the quality standard that is required for registration.

The engineering team is supported by a full-time drawing office and guided by project and engineering managers. The team is involved in the detailed design of water plants that comprise a range of various technologies such as filtration, ion exchange and membrane technologies. They’re also responsible for the design, build and commissioning of OEM water treatment equipment such as our solid-liquid separation systems.

Watercare Innovations has enhanced its engineering capabilities by investing in predictive software, including Autodesk CFD.  This enables our engineers to develop innovative, custom-built equipment and processes that fulfil the unique needs of each individual customer.

Training

Training Centre

Our reputation for being the water treatment industry experts stems from our experience and our culture of knowledge sharing and learning.

We believe this culture to be the foundation of our sustained creativity and innovation, the core of our competence in terms of customised equipment manufacture and process development.

Our Settler Operator training is well respected in the mining industry and has been established as the benchmark for all settler operations’ personnel.

Our training is a requisite for the successful operation of our client’s settlers, thickeners, boilers, cooling and process water systems.

Workshop & Maintenance

MaintenanceWatercare Innovations has a proven track record in the building, operation and maintenance of potable, industrial and environmental water plants.

The company’s proud track record of turning around poorly managed and designed plants into productive and successful operations is thanks in no small part to its well run workshop and maintenance division.

Using Watercare Innovations Operations and Maintenance has a number of benefits for our clients. These include:

  • Optimised operating costs
