Efficient dewatering of any heterogeneous slurry, through unique and effective liquid drainage. The BASK Tech Belt Filter (BASK-BF) operates on a unique and patented principle, which sets it apart from conventional horizontal belt filters.
Its efficient design ensures that the liquid drainage pathways between the solid particles are maintained through a combination of pneumatic and mechanical agitation (see Figure 1). This enables the liquor to be removed more efficiently and with lower energy input.
Figure 1
When integrating the BASK-BF into a process, we will undertake an analysis of these criteria to guarantee the performance of the machine:
- Filter cloth selection
- Particle Size Distribution (PSD) of the solids in the slurry
- Particle physical properties
- Solids concentration
- Viscosity of carrier liquid
If there is a requirement to treat the filtrate from the BASK-BF to ensure a “Zero Solids Discharge”, the High Rate Clarifier and Automatic Flocculant dosing plant can be added to the total solution.
Applications:
- Mining and process plant
- Waste water treatment
- Paper and pulp
- Steel manufacturing
- Food and beverage
- Agri-processing
Benefits:
- Modular design, which increases the versatility of the system
- Low CAPEX and OPEX
- Minimal operator intervention
- Self-cleaning
- Reduction of environment risk due to requiring minimal tailings dams
- Manual or fully automated plants available
- Compact footprint
- Utilises conventional low-pressure centrifugal fans
- Ease of cloth interchangeability
