Watercare heads to Nevada mining convention

By Admin | Blog | Comments are Closed | 28 Aug, 2019 | 5

Two members of the Watercare Mining team will be attending the Nevada Mining Association Convention on the shores of Lake Tahoe in the United States from 4-7 September.

The aim of the trip for Business Development Managers Dale Burraston and Eric Spagnuolo is to explore new opportunities and markets in the US under the banner of Watercare Innovations.

Watercare Innovations is a US-based company specialising in industrial water treatment solutions for the North American market

The convention will be held at Harrah’s Lake Tahoe in South Lake Tahoe, Nevada. The Lake provides the perfect backdrop for the event and gives attendees the chance to easily meet and network with fellow industry professionals.

Every part of the mining supply chain attends the event, from the largest mining companies in the world to sole proprietor businesses.

The event includes a “Reverse Expo” where suppliers meet face-to-face with mine operators in a series of short meetings as well as a number of informative speakers and sessions designed to keep attendees up to date on the latest happenings in Nevada and the mining industry at large.

The Nevada Mining Association Safety Awards will also take place at the convention, which recognises the men and women who exemplify the mining industry’s commitment to workplace safety.

According to the Elko Daily Free Press quoting a new survey by the Nevada Bureau of Mines, companies spent at least $460.1 million exploring for minerals and energy resources in Nevada in 2018. This was an increase of 31% on the previous year’s expenditure of $351.2 million.

Richard Perry, the administrator of Nevada’s Division of Minerals, said the new figures show a reversal of the downward cycle for exploration spend over the past five years.

According to the survey, most of the exploration companies also reported they planned to spend at least as much this year in Nevada as they have in past years, if not more.

The survey of 172 companies actively exploring in Nevada found that 81% of them would be spending as much or more as they have in the past.
